A Message from Eustace W. Mita, President of The Papal Foundation
As we know, this past year has been incredibly challenging to all of us. Yet, we are very thankful and blessed that the end to this pandemic is in sight. It truly is becoming Ordinary Time.
Despite all the challenges of these past 18 months, the work of the Foundation continued and provided much needed assistance to our brothers and sisters in developing nations. Over 1.8 million dollars in additional aid was provided for Covid assistance through our Mission Fund to care for the neediest among us. It is during these times that we reflect on and show our appreciation for the incredible work made possible by you, our Stewards of Saint Peter.
Over the past few months, our Search Committee Members, Rob Neal, Tammy Tenaglia, Den Jilot, Ward Fitzgerald and myself interviewed numerous candidates for the position of Executive Director. We are pleased to announce that our candidate of choice, David Savage has been offered and accepted the position. Over the next months, Dave will be reaching out to you to introduce himself.
As we return to a normal pace, we are pleased to announce that our Board of Trustees Meeting and Stewards Gathering will take place on the 6th and 7th of December 2021 in Washington, DC. Our annual Rome Pilgrimage is on the calendar and scheduled for the 24th through the 27th of April 2022. More information on both gatherings will be forthcoming.
We hope you will enjoy learning more about this year’s grants in this newsletter, as well as Glory and Tom Sullivan’s path to The Papal Foundation.
We are praying for you and your families,
God Bless you all,
